CLAT UG (Common Law Admission Test – Undergraduate) is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually for admission to undergraduate law programs (BA LL.B, BBA LL.B, etc.) at National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating institutions in India.
The exam is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) on a rotational basis. The Consortium consists of 24 NLUs as of now.
CLAT UG is primarily used for:
Admission to 5-year integrated law programs at NLUs
Admission to participating private and public universities
Recruitment by certain public sector undertakings (PSUs)
Frequency: Once a year (usually in December)
Mode: Offline (pen-paper based)
Duration: 2 hours
Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
